Yesterday was the closing day for the application for the post of Director General. We received 42 applications.

We published the announcement on the ICOM website and on ICOMMUNITY, spread it via the Advisory Committee (asking to spread the word), ICOM-L, globalmuseum.org, and three LinkedIn groups: Collections Management, ICOM group, Blue Shield.

We received applications from within ICOM and outside the network, museum field and other areas.

The gender is well balanced: 23 women, 19 men.

The ages vary between born in c. 1948 and 1986.

Applications come from all over the world and include many different nationalities.

We have a very good choice of candidates; for now I think this is an excellent result.
