Conference “Museum as a tool for the presentation of rural life, agriculture and forestry” / 5. – 6. November 2020
We invite you to the Conference Museum as a tool for the presentation of rural life, agriculture and forestry, which will take place on 5 – 6 November 2020 in the National Agricultural Museum in Prague.
The issue of rural areas, agriculture, forestry and food industry affects most museums and their collections. Especially agricultural museums, open-air museums, eco-museums, regional museums. The conference aims to present and confront specific approaches to the issue of rural presentation and agriculture. We will ask ourselves how, with the help of our collections, museum documentation and scientific elaboration, we can present current topics of rural, agricultural, forestry and food issues.
The conference for museum workers, historians, ethnographers, scientific, academic and educational workers, demographers, archivists, agronomists and others continues the tradition of international cooperation in the field of agricultural museology represented by the International Association of Agricultural Museums, which is part of ICOM, and which was founded in 1966. the agricultural museum stood. ”
The conference is prepared by the National Agricultural Museum in cooperation with the Slovak National Museum, the National Open-Air Museum, the Kladruby nad Labem National Stud Farm, the Czech ICOM Committee, the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic and the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
